have a look at Blue Box Cart, which is associated with Harbour Lights Night Club. The grand finale is August 7, which is a street parade with revelers in costume, calypso music pounding from trucks. This is a list of the bands/Kadooment group listed with the National Cultural Foundation but there are others. A lot of it is centered around calypso/soca music, and many of the events include live performances by some of the calypsonians. there will be people selling food and drinks, but you are restricted from actually joining the jump on the road. NOT being in a band/group, puts you on the side lines along the road/route from the National Stadium down to Spring Garden/Mighty Grynner Hwy. you would need to purchase a "costume" and by joining the band and jumping, should get you access to things like a drinks truck for that specific band, a toilet truck (important) and assistance if u can't make it through a part of the route. joining a group/band puts you right into the action on Kadooment day. I think it depends on what you are looking to do. I assume you are talking about whether to join a Kadooment Band (as they are called) or just to be on the side of the road and watch and following along part of the time.
